Three Favourite Foods So Far.

I won’t lie, we end up eating loads of easy-ready made meals on the boat because it’s easier than cooking things from scratch and getting in peoples way in the kitchen. There are, however, tons of foods you can in fact cook from scratch in our kitchen (galley).

When we had Tom over, we cooked chicken in nandos hot sauce. The juices had made a sort of broth in the tinfoil, and it tasted so good that I came up with an idea. What if we make Nandos chicken soup? We tried it with five bottles of extra hot sauce and one of those soup packs you get in a supermarket which usually contains; carrot, potato and turnip. Then we let it marinate overnight, and then the next day we cooked it on the little bbq out the back in a few metal trays. And this was the after product. Of course us having a bbq means we can cook steaks and sausages and such. The thing is, my dad and I only eat poultry and seafood, and it doesn’t hurt to be creative with your food ideas!

Dad:

Dad’s favourite is vegetarian Spaghetti bolognese.

To make it you need; Quorn mince, onion, garlic, red wine [optional], tomato sauce and spaghetti.

Start by frying off the onion and garlic.

Add the mince to the onion and garlic, add a dash of red wine if you want to.

Add the tomato sauce.

Meanwhile boil the spaghetti till it’s cooked aldente.

Simmer the sauce for as long as possible or/and until the juice thickens

Drain spaghetti and add the sauce.

Jacob:

My favourite food I’ve eaten has been the sausages we got at a butcher in Bermagui.

We cooked them on the bbq and Tom added beer to them, and I ate them with bread.

They were nice and thin and tasty.
